Method
1. Add milk, granulated sugar, ground cardamom and active dried yeast to a clean large mixing bowl
2. Mix briefly until combined
3. Let rest - 10 min
4. Whisk in the egg
5. Add all purpose flour and salt
6. Mix until dough forms - paddle attachment
7. Knead - 2 min, dough hook
8. Add unsalted butter to dough bit by bit while mixing
9. Transfer dough to a lightly greased bowl and cover with plastic wrap
10. Let rise until doubled - 30 min
11. Punch down and cover again
12. Let rise until doubled - 30 min
13. Line a clean baking sheet with parchment paper
14. Turn out dough on lightly-floured surface
15. Roll out dough into logs
16. Plait dough on baking sheet and cover
17. Let rise until springy to touch - 30 min
18. Pre-heat oven - 191°C
19. Whisk together ground cardamom, heavy cream and egg yolk in a clean small bowl
20. Brush the bread until coated
21. Bake until golden brown - 20 min, 191°C
22. Serve
