Step preview

  1. Get a clean medium bowl
  2. Add warm water
  3. Add granulated sugar
  4. Add active dried yeast
  5. Mix briefly until combined
  6. Get a clean large mixing bowl
  7. Add all purpose flour
  8. Add granulated sugar
  9. Add salt
  10. Whisk briefly until combined
  11. Transfer yeast mixture to dough
  12. Mix until dough forms - medium speed
  13. Turn out on lightly-floured surface
  14. Knead until soft
  15. Grease a clean medium bowl
  16. Transfer dough to medium bowl
  17. Cover with kitchen towel
  18. Let rise large mixing bowl until doubled and springy to touch - 2 hr
  19. Pre-heat - 230°C
  20. Prepare 2 clean baking sheets with parchment paper
  21. Knead large mixing bowl until smooth - approx 1 min
  22. Divide
  23. Form then set aside
  24. Get a clean medium bowl
  25. Add boiling water
  26. Mix in baking soda
  27. Transfer large mixing bowl to boiling water one by one
  28. Sprinkle with coarse sea salt
  29. Bake until golden brown - 10 min, 230°C
