    Method

  • 1. Add molasses, tomato sauce, brown sugar, dry mustard, salt and black pepper to a clean saucepan
  • 2. Heat slowly until mixture comes together - medium heat
  • 3. Add liquid smoke to the sauce
  • 4. Place cooked, drained beans in slow cooker
  • 5. Add the sauce to the beans and bacon and stir well
  • 6. Add enough water to cover the bean mixture by about 1/2 inch
  • 7. Slow cook on High for 4 hours
  • 8. and then on low for 3 hours
  • 9. Serve hot with corn bread or buns
