When I came up with these basil lemon turkey burgers I knew I had a big winner on my hands! They had loads of bright and fresh flavor from the basil and lemon for that Italian flair that I love so much. With the homemade lemon basil mayonnaise, I wanted to tie in the same basil and lemon flavor going on in the turkey burgers to really bring it all together into one big flavor bomb.

Step preview

  1. Get a large mixing bowl
  2. Add juice of, zest of lemon
  3. Add egg
  4. Add dijon mustard
  5. Add finely chopped fresh basil
  6. Whisk well
  7. Add truffle salt
  8. Pour canola oil slowly while whisking
  9. Whisk until creamy then set aside
  10. Prepare a large mixing bowl on drop
  11. Add finely chopped fresh basil
  12. Add zested lemon zest
  13. Add dijon mustard
  14. Add salt
  15. Add black pepper
  16. Add egg
  17. Stir
  18. Add ground turkey
  19. Mix thoroughly until well combined
  20. Divide into quarters
  21. Heat a large cast iron skillet
  22. Add butter
  23. Transfer content of large mixing bowl to large cast iron skillet
  24. Cook for approx 5min on medium heat
  25. Flip
  26. Add sliced smoked mozzarella cheese
  27. Cook for approx 5min
  28. Transfer content of large cast iron skillet to plate
  29. Assemble
