Chocolate cake is one of those “must-have” recipes. Life will always, always have occasions that need a good chocolate cake. For this cake, I used Ghirardelli dark chocolate chips, which have a slight cherry flavor, and mashed banana.

Step preview

  1. Pre-heat
  2. Grease a cake tin
  3. Get a clean large mixing bowl
  4. Sift whole wheat flour
  5. Sift white sugar
  6. Sift cocoa powder
  7. Sift baking soda
  8. Sift salt
  9. Get a clean medium bowl
  10. Add mashed banana
  11. Add melted dark chocolate chips
  12. Add vegetable oil
  13. Add egg
  14. Add vanilla extract
  15. Add almond milk
  16. Add water
  17. Mix until combined
  18. Add dry ingredients to batter gradually
  19. Pour batter into cake tin
  20. Bake for approx 45min until skewer tests clean and let cool
  21. Get a clean medium glass bowl
  22. Add white chocolate chips
  23. Heat in microwave until melted while stirring occasionally
  24. Add greek yogurt
  25. Mix in
  26. Transfer icing to cake tin
  27. Spread until covered
  28. Serve
