Step preview

  1. Pre-heat
  2. Get a clean large mixing bowl
  3. Add all purpose flour
  4. Add whole wheat flour
  5. Add baking soda
  6. Add baking powder
  7. Add granulated sugar
  8. Add cold, cubed unsalted butter
  9. Mix until coarse crumbs form
  10. Add zest of orange
  11. Add buttermilk
  12. Mix on low speed until combined
  13. Add rolled oats
  14. Add dried cranberries
  15. Mix gently until combined
  16. Press dough into square pan gently
  17. Chill in fridge for approx 1h
  18. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper
  19. Cut dough
  20. Transfer dough to baking sheet
  21. Sprinkle with granulated sugar
  22. Bake for 22min until browned at edges
  23. Transfer onto cooling rack
