This is a recipe from my childhood. I remember making these at sleep-overs and every now and then I get a craving for them. I add a sprinkling of flaked sea salt, like maldon, to cut a bit of the sweetness. These are great to make ahead and take to a summer picnic.

Step preview

  1. Get a clean saucepan
  2. Add corn syrup
  3. Add granulated sugar
  4. Heat on medium heat until boiling then set aside
  5. Add peanut butter
  6. Mix until smooth
  7. Add rice krispies
  8. Fold slowly until combined
  9. Grease a rectangular pan
  10. Transfer mixture to rectangular pan and press down
  11. Get a clean glass measuring cup
  12. Add milk chocolate chips
  13. Add butterscotch chips
  14. Melt in microwave for approx 45s while stirring occasionally
  15. Transfer chocolate mixture to rectangular pan
  16. Spread until covered
  17. Sprinkle with sea salt
  18. Let cool until set
  19. Cut into squares
