This is a recipe from my childhood. I remember making these at sleep-overs and every now and then I get a craving for them. I add a sprinkling of flaked sea salt, like maldon, to cut a bit of the sweetness. The...

  • Corn syrup icon

  • Granulated sugar icon

  • Peanut butter icon

  • Rice krispies icon
    Rice krispies200 g
  • Milk chocolate chips icon
    Milk chocolate chips190 g
  • Butterscotch chips icon

    Method

  • 1. Add corn syrup and granulated sugar to a clean saucepan
  • 2. Heat until boiling then set aside - medium heat
  • 3. Add peanut butter to the mixture
  • 4. Mix until smooth
  • 5. Add rice krispies to the mixture
  • 6. Fold slowly until combined
  • 7. Grease a clean rectangular pan
  • 8. Transfer mixture to rectangular pan and press down
  • 9. Add milk chocolate chips and butterscotch chips to a clean glass measuring cup
  • 10. Heat until melted while stirring occasionally - 45 sec, Power Level 7
  • 11. Transfer chocolate mixture to bars
  • 12. Spread until covered
  • 13. Sprinkle with sea salt
  • 14. Let cool until set
  • 15. Cut into squares
